Every Tuesday: Vrijplaats Verre binding in Rozet
The creative sanctuary is back – and you are invited. Come and make together and meet Arnhemmers from here and far!
Join the Vrijplaats in Rozet from November 3 to December 16. We offer an open and inspiring space where creativity knows no bounds. Whether you’re an experienced creator or just curious to try something new, this is your place to experiment, express yourself, and meet others.
What you can expect:
- Freedom to make your way, at your pace
- Workshops and techniques from guest artists and professionals
- Meet Arnhemmers near and far – a diverse and welcoming community
- All materials are provided – all you have to do is bring yourself!
Every meeting is slightly different. Creative guests regularly join us to share their techniques – from painting and illustration to collage, textiles and more. You can join a workshop, or just do your own thing in a cozy and shared environment.
The free space is a collaboration between Collectief Koppig, Ruimtekoers, and CONNECT Arnhem, with the aim of creating a place for creative expression, meeting and connection.
No sign-up required. Come along, get inspired, and create something that’s all your own.
We can’t wait to create with you. See you there!
Join the Artist Khattar Shaheen and become part of an art project in Arnhem!
In a time full of uncertainty, Khattar explores what happens when people don’t start by talking, but by making. What happens when a thought, a small moment, or a gentle memory doesn’t need to be told, but takes shape?
During this workshop, Khattar works with you every Wednesday using charcoal, stop-motion, and animation to explore that process.
Khattar Shaheen
Khattar Shaheen (1993) is a visual artist from Studio Khattar, born in Syria and currently based in the Netherlands. In his work, he explores how personal memories, imagination, and the here and now can converge in an image. He works with various media, such as drawing, charcoal, animation, and storytelling, using these forms to make feelings, thoughts, and small moments from daily life visible.

Join the Artist
With the Join the Artist program, we invite an artist to come and work with Arnhemmers from here and far over a period of two months. The artist’s practice is the starting point of this artistic encounter. In this way, the maker takes the participants along in their fascination and making together is a way to meet each other, share stories and connect. The artist then translates this into an artistic end result: a final work in which the individual contributions of the participants become part of a larger whole. Part of the programming of: ![]()
Practical information
Khattar Shaheen will be at Rozet in room 3.05 on Wednesdays March 18 and 25 / April 1, 8, 15, and 22 / May 6 and 13 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. No registration is required, you can just walk in! Participation is free.
