Join the Artist Ruben Jurrien and become part of an art project in Arnhem!

Experiment with clay, porcelain, paint, and textiles. Work together with Arnhemmers from here and far and artist Ruben Jurriën in eight weeks towards a garment that will soon be part of his new fashion collection. Soon you will see your creation in his collection and at the State of Fashion Fashion Biennial of 2026!

Ruben Jurriën

Ruben Jurriën is a fashion designer who is committed to making the fashion industry more inclusive and fun. He has always been inspired by clothing and likes to experiment with it. This passion originated in his childhood. In his practice, he works a lot with Toetie, the cuddly toy that used to offer him a lot of support and safety as a child. Ruben will work with you to find your own superhero or image that gives you strength or safety.

Join the Artist

With the Join the Artist program, we invite an artist to come and work with Arnhemmers from here and far over a period of two months. The artist’s practice is the starting point of this artistic encounter. In this way, the maker takes the participants along in their fascination and making together is a way to meet each other, share stories and connect. The artist then translates this into an artistic end result: a final work in which the individual contributions of the participants become part of a larger whole. Part of the programming of:

Practical information

Ruben Jurriën is present every Tuesday from 20 January to 10 March from 15:00 to 17:00. And please note: until 10 February at azc Elderhoeve, from 17 February it is at Rozet. You don’t have to register, you can just walk in! Participation is free.
