The film council from near and far invites you to: Pride

August is Pride month, and to celebrate this, the Film Council of Verre binding has selected Pride: a film set in the summer of 1984, during the reign of Margaret Thatcher. A group of homosexual activists decides to raise money to support the families of striking miners. When the union refuses the offer, the activists travel in a minibus to a mining village in Wales to hand over the money in person.

Pride is a cheerful feel-good about courage, solidarity and overcoming prejudice.

During this evening, residents of azc’s can get in touch with their fellow citizens in Arnhem! Prior to the screening, a meet-up on (queer) activism will take place from 21.00, with room for meeting and exchange.

  • Doors open: from 20.45
  • Start meet-up: 21.00
  • Start movie: 21.45
  • Duration film: 120 min

The film is spoken in English and has Arabic subtitles.

Program Council

From Verre binding , film is used as an art form to create encounters between Arnhemmers from near and far.

The program council, which started in October 2024, chooses films from all over the world with universal themes that offer the viewer a different perspective. It gives visitors the opportunity to meet Arnhemmers from near and far and to discuss universal themes together.
