Join the artist! Visual artist Khattar Shaheen

Join the Artist Khattar Shaheen and become part of an art project in Arnhem!

In a time full of uncertainty, Khattar explores what happens when people don’t start by talking, but by making. What happens when a thought, a small moment, or a gentle memory doesn’t need to be told, but takes shape?

During this workshop, Khattar works with you every Wednesday using charcoal, stop-motion, and animation to explore that process.

Khattar Shaheen

Khattar Shaheen (1993) is a visual artist from Studio Khattar, born in Syria and currently based in the Netherlands. In his work, he explores how personal memories, imagination, and the here and now can come together in an image. He works with various media, such as drawing, charcoal, animation, and storytelling, using these forms to make feelings, thoughts, and small moments from daily life visible.

Join the Artist

With the Join the Artist program, we invite an artist to come and work with Arnhemmers from here and far over a period of two months. The artist’s practice is the starting point of this artistic encounter. In this way, the maker takes the participants along in their fascination and making together is a way to meet each other, share stories and connect. The artist then translates this into an artistic end result: a final work in which the individual contributions of the participants become part of a larger whole. Part of the programming of:
