Films from near and far: Caramel (Canceled)
Change your perspective at Focus Film Theater (with after-program)

The Caramel film screening on Saturday, March 8, unfortunately cannot take place.
Verre binding presents: Caramel
One-time screening of Nadine Labaki’s delightful comedy Caramel. This screening is part of the International Women’s Day program. The film was selected by the film council of Verre binding. There will be a short introduction.
Warm comedy in which the lives of five very different women intersect in a beauty salon in Beirut. In between combing, cutting, varnishing, filing and waxing (hence the caramel…) lively and intimate conversations are held about men, sex and motherhood. Layla loves Rabih, a married man. Nisrine is Muslim. She is getting married, but is no longer a virgin. Rima is attracted to women. Jamale refuses to grow older. And Rose takes care of her sick sister.
After the film screening, there will be an opportunity to chat and reflect together in the foyer while enjoying drinks and snacks.
Program Council
In the project Verre binding, film is used as an art form to create encounters between Arnhemmers from near and far.
The program board, which launched in October 2024, choose films from around the world with universal themes that offer viewers different perspectives. Verre binding gives visitors the chance to meet Arnhemmers from near and far and to discuss universal themes together.
