Far binding programming: Mahbas

A program board of Arnhemmers from here and far is programming their first worldly movie at Focus Filmtheater: Mahbas. Mahbas (Solitaire) is a Lebanese romcom about tolerance and forgiveness. The film will be introduced by members of the program council and after the film we will engage in conversation with the audience.

Program Council

In the project Verre binding, film is used as an art form to create encounters between Arnhemmers from here and far. Kim van der Werff, programmer at Focus Filmtheater, had long wanted to set up a program council at Focus with residents of azc’s. She is doing this with Niloofar, of Beautiful Mess, who herself has a background in film.

The program board, which launched in October, choose films from around the world with universal themes that offer viewers different perspectives. Verre binding with Wordly movies gives visitors the chance to meet Arnhemmers from here and far and to discuss universal themes together.
