Verre binding programs: movies about coming home, Mrs. Doubtfire
A programming council of residents of Arnhem from near and far programs films of the world at Focus Filmtheater. The film will be introduced by members of the program council and afterwards we will engage in conversation with the audience.
Program Council
In the project Verre binding, film is used as an art form to create encounters between Arnhemmers from here and far. Kim van der Werff, programmer at Focus Filmtheater, had long wanted to set up a program council at Focus with residents of azc’s. She is doing this with Niloofar, of Beautiful Mess, who herself has a background in film.
The program board, which launched in October, choose films from around the world with universal themes that offer viewers different perspectives. Verre binding with Films of the world gives visitors the opportunity to meet residents of Arnhem from near and far away and to discuss universal themes together.

Mrs. Doubtfire
Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 feel-good film classic starring the incomparable actor Robin Williams. Williams plays the role of Daniel Hillard, an unemployed actor who loses custody of his three children to his ex-wife after his divorce. When he realizes that he wants to see his children more than once a week and his ex-wife is desperately looking for a babysitter, he comes up with a strange plan. He dresses up as ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, an elderly British nanny.
